Business Development - Account Manager

This position is field-based in California, with work being conducted both at customer locations and from your home office.

CB Pacific is a supplier of instrumentation, valves and automation products and is a service provider to the industrial marketplace.

We’re seeking a Business Development Manager to pursue leads and drive sales activity in the Water, Food, Power, Semi-Conductor, Bio pharma, Beverage, CPG industries. You will need to have a good working knowledge in one or more of these industries, so you can speak intelligently to the client about their process and our solutions. You will also need to be mechanically and electronically competent in order to learn and understand the technology we offer and how to apply this to the client’s facility and processes.

The Business Development Manager for CB Pacific will manage business development plans, which includes finding new leads, working with inside sales to developed proposals, and communicating with clients. This position will have minimal oversight from Management, so employee needs to have the ability to work independently and not hesitate to contact management when questions arise.

As Business Development Manager, you’ll proactively identify and pursue new opportunities, spending most of your time calling on new and existing customers to consultatively create new sales opportunities. You’ll recommend solutions and build strong, sustainable, and profitable relationships.

Ideal qualifications we seek in a candidate:

  • You’re technically savvy and naturally curious – you have a passion for learning about new technology and our customers’ products and business practices.
  • You understand the technology sales process, including lead generation, lead pursuit, closing techniques, and customer relationship management.
  • You understand discounting, margins, and multipliers.
  • You have a Bachelors’ degree and 5 or more years’ related experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively in-state; most of your time will be spent on outside sales calls so reliable transportation and the ability to travel overnight is essential.
